MNTI 2 Good Practice Guidance for BTDCs
1st Revision
Revision date: March 2005
The purpose of this guidance is to provide Bench Training and Development Committees (BTDCs) with advice on their role, function and procedures. It replaces and updates the original MNTI 2 Good Practice Guidance for BTDCs published in December 2003 and is intended to supplement the implementation and operation of Justices of the Peace (Training and Appraisal) Rules 2005 (the rules). Those rules replace, from 1 April 2005, the relevant parts of the Justices of the Peace (Size and Chairmanship of Bench) Rules 2002 (the 2002 rules), which are revoked by the implementation of the Courts Act 2003.

It takes account of feedback from stakeholders; the experience of MATCs in carrying out their functions; the establishment of the JSB Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Team; and the new Rules and constitutional reforms since then. It also for the first time contains input from the Judicial Office in respect of applications to divide and amalgamate MATCs.

TDC Good Practice Guidance
2nd Revision

The purpose of this guidance is to provide Bench Training and Development Committees (BTDCs) with advice on their role, function and procedures. It replaces and updates the original Good Practice Guidance for BTDCs published in March 2005. These committees are referred to jointly as Training and Development Committees (TDCs), hence the title of this guidance.
