For
the avoidance of doubt, Part II of the Family Law Act 1996 is being
repealed and the old law continues to apply. Divorce consists substantially
of box work for district judges. In the case of nullity or a defended
divorce, judges are advised to refer to the appropriate text. Rayden
is particularly good for immigration points, which should in most
instances be referred to the High Court. Judges are also reminded
that the Equal Treatment Bench Book gives further guidance on religious
marriages.
