The Civil Committee is currently chaired by a Court of Appeal Judge, Mr Justice Owen. The committee organises the following courses and seminars:

• Induction courses for Deputy District Judges, to provide basic judicial skills.
• Induction course for Recorders, to prepare those attending to deal with Civil work within the County Court.
• Combined Civil Continuation seminars for High Court Judges the Circuit and District benches.
• Specialist Jurisdiction Continuation Seminars for those judges involved with Chancery, Mercantile and TCC work.
• Housing Act/Family Law Act Seminars for District Judges.
• District Judge Annual Seminar.
